About:
Chloë is an artist and arts educator, mainly working with kids. Within her practice, she works with text, sculpture and printmaking - re-staging domestic routines, exploring qualities inherent with print in regards to the repetitiveness of labour, and the production of workaday materials. Chloë reworks practices of hidden reproductive and emotional labour; considering and connecting the parallels that exist within the home, as well as precarious contemporary service industry roles, and how this falls into class based ‘feminised work’.
As an arts educator, Chloë has worked in schools delivering workshops and is the current kids Saturday Art Club leader at RAW Labs, run by Bow Arts. Since the pandemic arriving in the UK, she now runs her art club online: ‘Online Art Club’ - open to all kids and families to participate. Responding to the important ethos of ‘Stay At Home’, Chloë devises projects that look at how to make art from the home, repurposing art techniques using domestic materials that you may already find in your kitchen cupboards, laying around the house, or what may go in your rubbish and food waste. This is also to widen the accessibility of kids being able to participate, who may of relied on physical arts and education spaces as a means to access such materials and equipment.
