MAKER. CONTEMPORARY VISUAL ARTIST.
My work explores ideas of queerness and place, focusing on intimate connections to our material surroundings. I am interested in material experience and how it shapes identity. I have worked as a practicing artist and curator for the past five years. I graduated with a first class honors degree in Fine Art from the University of Central Lancashire in July 2019.
Since graduation, I have spent time developing my experience as a freelance curator/arts industry professional. Most recent/current roles include, Curator and project manager for a Community-led online exhibition with The Harris Museum & Art Gallery NPO, and Studio Assistant for The Birley Artist Studios & Projectspace CIC, Preston.
My work has been exhibited internationally. Recent activity includes, Queer Contemporaries, Short supply, AIR Gallery, Altrincham; BACKLIT Gallery- Nottingham supported by UK New Artists NPO; The AKI institute of Art & Design in Enschede NL; GRAFT, The Harris Museum & Art Gallery NPO, Preston; and a year long installation of work at Art B&B CIC- Blackpool.
I write, research and review a lot of practice relevant activities and exhibitions.
I recently wrote a review for Subsidiary Projects' (London) exhibition- The Potion Room, February 2020, this was published online by Curator Georgia Stephenson and on the Subsidiary Projects website.
