Discipline:

Children's illustrator

Location:

Sheffield, UK

ABOUT:

Adam is an illustrator based in Sheffield. Focussing mainly on children's illustration, the goal of his work is to inspire qualities such as joy, peace, beauty, love, compassion, oneness, etc. for children and adults with an open heart. Incorporating diversity in his illustrations is fundamental to Adam's work.

Over the years Adam has given meditation classes, under the guidance of his own teacher, Sri Chinmoy. Before he was a professional illustrator he worked as a cycling instructor, teaching young children how to cycle safely on the road. That was great fun. Children really inspire him!

Today, Adam's children’s illustration work is his way to try and uplift people. Seeing artwork that inspires or uplifts us in some way is so important.

Adam primarily works digitally, although typically starts each illustration sketching with good old pencil and paper.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
