Damien Da Silva

Discipline:

Embroidery, Crochet, Collage

Location:

Bedford, Bedfordshire

ABOUT:

While primarily working within the mediums of embroidery and crochet, recently branching out into collaging, Damien tries to work in any medium which takes his interest, passionate about creation in any form that may take.

Damien currently uses art as a way to engage with his interests, explore his trans and queer identities, and empower fat, femininely presenting men. He is excited to further evolve both the mediums he works in and the purposes and messages of his work as he continues with his journey of creation.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
