Underscored by research into structural conditions and inequalities that affect our lives I work in varied media, including painting, sculpture and performance to engage with what it is we “need” to be well, the experience of bodymind’s denied these needs and the affect of absent care. Resisting the binary of human and non-human life I pull from signs of deprivation, abundance and will to survive present in the natural world to interrogate the man-made systems that inform our well-being and leave many of us twisted and contorted trying to exist within them.
