Elizabeth Keen

Discipline:

Multidisciplinary Artist

Location:

London

ABOUT:

Keen is a multi-media artist based in London, who is currently undertaking a Fine Art BA at Loughborough University.
Keen explores non-traditional shrines made up of found objects that we have a unexplainable attraction to. This can be from items we purposely keep and place within our personal space or items left for us to find that we have no previous knowledge of their past. Using second-hand kitsch objects and interiors within her practice is an important factor as they relate back to her surroundings whilst growing up in a family from the East End, London.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
