Multidisciplinary Artist and Writer

Location:

Liverpool, UK

ABOUT:

I am a North West Cumbrian currently living and working in Liverpool. When I'm not scanning items as though my life depends on it at Lidl, I'm either drawing, punch-needling, making radge songs, animating, writing, digitally manipulating photos of myself, watching absolutely any and every reality TV show I can find, or running a new alternative education project called Phlegm. Within my work, I seek to impress not only the bubble of artists I find myself within on Instagram, but equally the population of my hometown, Wigton, where the predominantly working-class and isolated community are about as far from Fine Art elitism that you can get. If what I make makes my mam proud, it's served its purpose.

WORKS:

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
