Ewelina Skowronska

Discipline:

painter, prinmaker

Location:

London

ABOUT:

My art practice focuses on creating 2D work, by mixing various media, including painting, printmaking, dyeing, drawing. The overarching theme of my recent works is an inquiry into how we can re-establish a connection to the intangible and invisible aspects of our surroundings, thereby acknowledging our dependence on nature and shedding the anthropocentric perspective. Through the investigation of the potential of natural plant dyes, as well as their historical, herbal, and magical properties, I focus on ephemeral and unspoken aspects, using a combination of different mediums to produce a unique and powerful contrast.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
