ABOUT:

“My practice focuses on using organic materials as the subject and medium. My passion for art and nature has led me to combine the two by crafting my own tools, inks and papers out of natural resources. Paganism has been a prime influence with the belief of showing a veneration for the natural world.”

“By using materials relating to the subject source, I feel it depicts a unique and relative outcome which captures the source material not only through the visual aspect but also the method process. Using organic materials to craft tools, paper, inks and materials from the natural world in order to illustrate it is a process which I consider an art form in itself.”

“The process is both therapeutic and experimental. Documentation and cataloguing is vital for future reference to create my own personal archive and collection of knowledge. The Natural World is a leading theme with aspects of mental health.”

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
