ABOUT:

I am a portrait photographer based in the north of England, creating imagery of a contemporary and sometimes cinematic style, inspired by such photographers as Neil Krug, Gregory Crewdson, and Toby Harvard. I mostly work producing photographs of other artists at the moment - mostly musicians, however at the moment am developing my own bodies of work to sit alongside past projects.

I consider portraiture an escapism, a way of getting outside of my own perceived reality and a way of creating my own narrative on what might normally be seen as everyday or banal, and also enjoying experimenting with light and emotion within these images.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
