ABOUT:

"I'm a visual artist working mainly in photography, painting and digital art. My work explores themes of identity, queer culture, class and politics. My work explores identity politics and includes strong themes of LGBTQ+ issues, societal structures, the working class and sociopolitical issues through dreaminess and satire. I attempt to combat societal norms and standards through my work, as well as using cheap, accessible art supplies as a rejection of the elitist, white cis male-centred world of art. My work is playful, messy, colourful and full of satire. I believe that art has the possibility for accessible discussions, education and political awakenings that help strive for impactful change."

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
