Discipline:

Visual artist

Location:

West London

ABOUT:

Commonly referred to as Kira, I am a West London based visual artist that explores the cultural commonalities between the British and Black community through an artistic lens. Initially viewing art as a leisurely activity, from November 2022 I took my craft seriously and began selling prints at markets. It was from that point i reinvested my energy into oil paintings and graphite drawings to present my ideas on a larger scale. I’m slowly transitioning from being just an illustrator to a fine artist whilst working full time.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
