Multidisciplinary artist

Location:

ABOUT:

TanOren’s practice is grounded in her lived experience as a disabled woman, and is shaped by the intersection of personal history, identity, memory and emotional nuance. Working across paint, mixed media, writing and film, she explores the complex relationship between chaos and structure within internal and external landscapes. Her work is interconnected, and each stroke forms part of a broader cohesive narrative. This layered approach allows her to express the dissonance and harmony that coexist in perception, inviting deeper reflection on the emotional and psychological dimensions of being.
Through a multidisciplinary lens, she seeks to create work that is both deeply personal and universally resonant, offering moments of recognition, vulnerability, and connection.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
