ABOUT:

As an artist with a displaced background, my personal experiences inevitably shape my artistic lens and inform the narratives I explore.

I am someone who believes in visual communication being a tool for change, inspired by artists like Suzanne Lacy, who walks a delicate line between an artist and an activist.

My current practice investigates the fragmentation of individuality, seeking to synthesise fragmented experiences, creating a whole out of shattered pieces. Driven to tell stories, creating narratives that are expansive and go beyond the canvas’s frames, I like freedom. Not assigning explicit meaning, limiting the viewer to my own perceptual frames, but rather provoking a feeling, a response. Linking associations, resonances, and cultures.

Prominent subject matter is people and experiences: how those experiences, memories, spaces with given sentimental value influence our identity shaping.

Aiming to further expand into work with cultural, national heritage, and collective memory through art, I focus on archiving experiences and the ongoing process of becoming, striving to capture the inherent value of the moment rather than a precise depiction of the scene.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
