Discipline:

Performer, Performance Artist

Location:

Glasgow

ABOUT:

Craig Manson is a Glasgow-based artist who creates satirical and joyous performances across theatre, live art, dance and cabaret.

Unafraid of embracing the provocative, the surreal and the silly, Craig’s vision is rooted in a desire to unite audiences through exhilarating theatre experiences. His cheeky performance style, often combined with satirical narratives and urgent political questions, aims to leave people feeling inspired and empowered.

Collaboration is a key component of Craig’s practice and he regularly works with other artists to create their own work. He is a trained actor and performer who specialises in the generation and development of interdisciplinary performance, new writing and comedy, aiming to encourage and uplift other artists to get their shows on the stages it deserves to be on.

Craig trained in performance making at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and his work has been presented at The Southbank Centre, Tramway, Dance International Glasgow, Made in Scotland, Actoral and Buzzcut. He was nominated for The Melbourne Fringe Onward Touring Award at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe and was a recipient of The Dewar Award in 2019.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
