About:

Elias is a British-Moroccan writer and filmmaker based in Folkestone, UK, whose work is fast gaining attention.

Elias has had his film projects supported by the BFI Network and the Arab British Centre.

One of his short stories was shortlisted from more than 750 submissions for A Writing Chance in 2021 which offered Elias his first paid commission. He has gone on to produce several creative nonfiction pieces for The New Statesman, as well as a dramatic monologue which was performed to a 250-strong live audience as part of Margins to Mainstream with Michael Sheen. The piece was released on 26th April 2022 on BBC Sounds.

Elias has a wide-ranging experience behind the scenes in the film and television industry. He hopes to use his confluence of experiences to tell stories that offer a deeper understanding of the multiplicity of Arab and working-class identities.
