Creative Producer, Multidisciplinary Artist

ABOUT:

Florence is a creative producer and artist based in Yorkshire, originally from Birmingham. She studied BA Performance Design at the University of Leeds, where she developed her interests and research in scenography and multi-disciplinary art practices. 3-4 years after graduating from her degree, she went on to obtain an MA in Performance from Leeds Beckett University, within which she was able to widen her creative skillset further through exploration into the intersections of her practice across producing, live art, heritage, research, workshop delivery and international and cross-disciplinary collaborations. As someone with lived experience of neurodivergence and the barriers this can present when developing a creative career, Florence is keen to provide advocacy and producing support to artists who face additional barriers to making work.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
