Discipline:

Multidisciplinary Artist.

Location:

Scotland

ABOUT:

Fox Banks is a performance artist and creator whose work lives between the street and the stage, the political and the personal. Neuroqueer and working-class, they use the body as a site of resistance, tenderness, and transformation — holding a magnifying glass up to the explosion, investigating how the smallest fragments and the largest forces intertwine to reveal what makes us fundamentally human.

A graduate with BA (Hons) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland they make devised and collaborative work. Using their core skill set as a performance maker, mover and designer to create unique spectacles and projects from concept to creation.

Fox has worked with the Design Council, Scottish Opera, Creative Scotland, Scottish Ballet, Motionhouse, Superfan among others as well as being a co-founder of Ukemi.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
