Gabriel Harris

Discipline:

Actor, Writer, Facilitator, Clown.

Location:

London

ABOUT:

Gabriel Harris (He/Him) is a trans-masculine, working-class, actor, writer and clown. When he isn't acting, he can be found performing as his clown alter ego, Indy Nile. Since winning London based drag competition, The Gold Rush, in 2019, Indy Nile can be found all over the UK, often giving TEDTalks on why mansplaining is bad, or reciting his questionable poetry. He uses clowning to explore his working-class trans masculine identity through a joyous and radically silly lens. Most recently, he was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Brigton Fringe awards for his solo show, 'He/He/He'.

WORKS:

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
