ABOUT:

Heather S Roberts is a visual artist whose work dwells on alienation within relationships and the breaking down of social bonds in relation to neurodivergence. The work is concerned with memory and the passage of time, how these effect the individual and change our perception of ourselves. Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland Heather spent twelve years as a theatre maker and events organiser before entering the Glasgow School of Art to study Fine Art Photography. During this time she studied abroad at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn where she expanded her practice into metalwork, fabrication and alternative methodology in the photographic process.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
