Discipline:

Maker, multidisciplinary Designer/artist

Location:

New Cross, London

ABOUT:

My practice tends to be led hands first. I prefer to get close to whatever material I am working with, as I see my practice as a collaboration with the material and to engage with its own agency. I have worked with the idea of focusing on the material both physically and computationally, through using algorithms as tools for creating with nature or building
with my hands to create something new from the old.
My work is research driven with outcomes normally resulting in publications as a preferred choice of communication. But an also growing desire in fabrication.
I've dedicated a lot of my projects to the relationships we have with our current climate, environment and materiality. As think we should create consciously with nature included In the narrative and avoid boundaries between the two. To have a holistic approach to creating.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
