ABOUT:

Megan Rudden is an artist and writer currently based in Glasgow working across performance, object making, text based work and drawing. By focusing on materiality within an interdisciplinary practice, her work reflects on the various intersections which shape contemporary ideas of identity. Often working in response to site, Megan attempts to create non-linear, transhistorical narratives which consider the body as central to understanding language and our environment. Her recent work explores ghosts and haunting as a way to question our current realities. She has performed and exhibited at various locations across the UK including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and at the back of a car park in Dundee. Megan is currently undertaking postgraduate study in Art Writing at Glasgow School of Art.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
