Multidisciplinary Artist

Location:

Cardiff, Wales

ABOUT:

Morgan Dowdall (they/them) is an artist born in South Wales and based in Cardiff. They originally studied Ceramics at Cardiff School of Art and Design, however Morgan’s artistic practice explores a wide range of visual art, from: drawing, painting, sculpture, applied arts, and installation. Through these mediums, they explore queer aesthetics and the representation of male bodies throughout art history.

"I hope to depict a body that is both vulnerable and receiving, confronting a broken sense of
masculinity and offsetting the common trope of ‘female as object’ that we are so used to seeing."

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
