ABOUT:

I'm a self-taught musician with a new project born out of my hometown of Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom. The music I created is predominantly self-produced, and my primary goal once the song is sonically and structurally established is to pen the lyrics. I've been writing for nearing 15 years of my life now, and whilst many of the subject matters have changed from songs or projects I've worked on, there's always tinges of socioeconomic and locational prejudices. The foundations are usually built on observation, and whilst external factors may contribute, this approach has quite often allowed for interpersonal reflection.

I have recently graduated with an MSc in Psychology from Arden University. It's only reinforced the notion that learning is growing, and I've certainly learned a lot about myself from the long-distance studying of the postgrad. I currently work for an amazing charity that supports a local hopsice in Hull and East Riding. Having firmly dipped my toe into the arts industry in the previous decade or so, I've participated in national and international festivals such as The Great Escape, Focus Wales, Left of the Dial, and many more, whilst also curating events closer to home.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
