ABOUT:

Sky Dair (she/her) is a writer and multi-disciplinary artist from London. Her practice focuses on the catharsis within making and thinking. She is interested in the intersection and collaging of video, photography, audio, and language as a vessel to explore emotional release. She also works within self publishing as a facilitation of her interest in collective emotion and convening; creating a wide range of her artist books and zines which are sold at independent bookshops and book fairs in the U.K. She writes a substack called I’ll be loving you delving into the culture that sustains her and brings her joy. She completed an MA from Central Saint Martins in 2020 and is an alumni of the School of The Damned. Her interests also encompass working class representation within the arts and how the myriad of this culture has been depicted on screen. The intersections of the arts and how to build links between different works are of great importance to her and she finds a lot of enjoyment in bringing new audiences to pieces they may feel are not for them, both formally through education work and informally with friends and via social media.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
