Discipline:

Theatre, Comedy, Dramaturg, Director, Writer

Location:

London, East/North (Hackney)

ABOUT:

For some years now I have worked as a freelance consultant, dramaturg, director and writer of theatre and comedy, and have an established career supporting comedians and theatre-makers across London. I’ve worked with artists such as Alice Cockayne, Mikey Bligh-Smith, Holly Spillar and Ozzy Algar supporting and developing their solo productions for the Edinburgh Fringe, regional tours, and on their West End transfers. Many of the shows I’ve worked on have been listed as British Comedy Guide Recommended, nominated for the ISH Awards, and received press acclaim. I’ve also worked with a large number of clients - upward of 30 within the last year - on an ad-hoc basis as a consultant to benefit their writing, production and branding, as well as the playful aspects of their artistic output.

WORKS:

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
