ABOUT:

My brand is called House of Tremayne. I’m a jewellery designer based in Redruth who uses recycled silver and Sea glass I find on the beaches of Cornwall. I incorporate freshwater Pearls that I dismantle from old jewellery I find in local charity shops - I strive to be sustainable in my practice. I make small batches depending on what I find and have available at the time.
Whilst working in the hospitality industry to finance my degree at Central Saint Martins, I’m starting to delve more deeply into the connection between craft and the creative industry. Sea glass jewellery has a reputation in the art jewellery world for being basic and ‘crafty’. I want to prove that Sea glass has a place in the luxury market.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
