Antonia Del Ens

Discipline:

Photography, Observational Poetry, Digital Collage, Archiving and Documenting

Location:

Farringdon/Essex

ABOUT:

Antonia Del Ens' area of inquiry is a matter of instance and the right variables coming together at the perfect time. The British-Spanish fine artist emphasises that progression is a constant and that beauty in documenting the everyday has become instinct rather than just an artistic practice. Family relations and the brute force of learning about one's sense of self are the most prevalent themes that are touched on in her work. Regularly using moving image, film photography and poetry to convey this, she works to highlight mundanity in a way that reflects the uneasy charm of the candidacy, as well as social issues and accessibility

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
