Arti dillon

Discipline:

Multidisciplinary, Trans media researcher Artavist?

Location:

London

ABOUT:

Arti reacts & responds to themes in and around her life that are often hidden. Both playful and confrontational, she makes work with various mediums, from the leftover and the economical, often with interactive elements to create works that spark discussion, awareness and another possible future.

Activist or Artist? Or neurospicy cultural elephant, stomping & scurrying between words and worlds. Arti acknowledges ‘the personal is political’ and mentally dances between utilising arts and culture as a tool for social justice and her own well-being, sewing together leftovers for more hopeful days ahead.

Woke, waking or downright sleepless!? Arti dissects herself, systems, processes and sometimes the work themselves in an anxious, intensive way. Unravelling herself and the layers whilst mindfully scattering seeds that expose capitalism in its forms & desperate fragility.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
