Location:

Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK

ABOUT:

Cat Scott MRSS is an international contemporary artist known for her experimental fluid sculptures, using ephemeral wave phenomena like light, sound, liquids, and gases.
Her work explores the wonder of natural fluid systems, such as bubble dynamics, mixed with personal themes of womanhood, neurodiversity, and identity.
Cat pushes the boundaries of contemporary sculpture by using fluid, natural and technological materials and processes, to create sensory experiences that are accessible and inclusive.
She aims to make art accessible to all by exhibiting in diverse spaces, including galleries, biennials, sculpture parks, and public spaces, reaching those who might not visit traditional art galleries.
Since 2014, Cat has secured 13+ commissions and £66,000+ in funding from institutions including Arts Council England, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Changwon Sculpture Biennale (Korea), Asia Culture Center (Korea), and the University of Leeds. Her innovative work continues to redefine contemporary sculpture and public engagement.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
