Discipline:

Illustrator

Location:

Preston, Lancashire

ABOUT:

An illustrator who could also fall into the fine art bracket, with a passion for abstract, inky mark making and line work.

Fine lines have always been a part of my practice as an artist but only in recent years has mark making came to the forefront of my process in creating. The contrast in the fluidity of ink and the control of line is frequently seen within my works. Another significant part of my practice is experimenting with materials, mediums and scale. Finding new methods of working progresses my style and not only keeps it fresh, but keeps me sane.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
