Discipline:

Multidisciplinary Artist

Location:

Chichester, West Sussex

ABOUT:

Using making, material and motifs from a wide range of historical narratives mixed with a contemporary understanding of art and material I create work that can contextually bridge past and present. I want my work to explore new and different viewpoints of past stories, objects and places. I use a wide variety of disciplines in my practice from textiles and paint to sculpture and installation. My practice usually begins with a historically/archaeological based research point that I deep-dive into which then manifests into a material language that I use to develop a work or series of work.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
