Jane Wilson

Discipline:

Multidisciplinary Artist

Location:

South East

ABOUT:

Jane is fascinated by moral decay, decadence, deterioration and damage – harm caused by humans to the environment, to mankind as a result of the damage done to the environment or damage and harm inflicted on humans by each other.

She enjoys the challenge of combining materials that don’t usually meet using the contrasting colours and textures, taking something discarded and giving it a new life. Her creative process is heavily influenced by her life experiences; in particular her work in education and her love of nature, often working with organic forms and incorporating elements of nature into her pieces.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
