Book Editor and Writer

Location:

Penge, London, UK

ABOUT:

A south Londoner, I am currently Editorial Director of the imprint Trapeze Books where my focus is on publishing conversation starting books by underrepresented voices. I have edited and published multiple Sunday Times bestsellers including Love in Colour by Bolu Babalola, Keep the Receipts by The Receipts Podcast and The Girls Bathroom book. I have also worked on books by a vast number of experts, activists, game-changers and celebrities including Keke Palmer, Kwajo Tweneboa, Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, Adele Zeynep Walton and Paula Akpan. I mentor marginalised writers to help them develop their work in the hopes they will be signed by an agent and get published.

As a writer, I have authored gifting titles, and I have completed my debut novel, Losing the Plot, which is a romcom that has working class characters at its heart.

WORKS:

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
