About:
"In my work I explore the idea of queer poetics and vulnerability. My drawings and paintings are a documentation of my own lived experience. In them, I investigate ways in which we can decelerate our gaze and express what cannot be expressed with words. My inspiration comes from my family, half spanish and half venezuelan, and my non binary identification. I understand my body as a multiplicity in constant transformation, a body made into pieces, a body- animal, a body-monster. And that is how I represent it in my art. Bodies that communicate with animals, activating ancestral rituals that go beyond the gender binary. Fragmented bodies that resist the normalisation of our bodies and experiences. Vulnerability, sadness, and loneliness are essential in my work. They are qualities that our society tries to censure and make private. My aim is to make these experiences public and shared."
