Discipline:

Visual Artist

Location:

County Durham

ABOUT:

I’m an early career, multi-media artist, having left nursing post-pandemic to pursue a lifelong creative passion. I draw inspiration from life in the North and am motivated by a love of people, animals and the natural world.

A visual artist, I respond to the world I observe through images, word and sound. I’m interested in northern communities, both a unifying northern identity and the uniqueness of the diverse communities within the region. I strongly believe in working towards a world where equality is standard, community is united and positive mental health is nurtured.

WORKS:

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
