ABOUT:

Rhonda Davies is a multidisciplinary visual artist and printmaker born and living in Liverpool. Her work includes drawing, collage, screen print ceramics, set and prop making, animation, video and performance.

Her work often explores personal and autobiographical themes. Drawing inspiration from the humor and tragedy of growing up in an “underclass household” where she began using art and satire to explore dreams and fantasies or escape reality altogether.

As a socially engaged practitioner, Rhonda recently established a collage club and community screen printing workshop -Liverpool Community Print Station CIC. Working to broaden accessibility to screen printing, improve mental health through creativity and tackle classism within the arts.

Along with LCPS Rhonda is a member or Prints N Tha a not for profit collective and press, which helps artists distribute and promote their work affordably, and People Versus TV a collective making and showcasing subversive films, animations and more.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
