Cartoonist

Location:

Slough

ABOUT:

Ryan is a Cartoonist and 2D Animator.

He grew up glued to the television watching cartoons, and although he acknowledges that it may have caused some irreparable ocular damage, Ryan is certain that his work is greatly influenced by his love for them.

His creative process favours the use of pencil and paper to create interesting characters through inventive use of shape and caricature. He works quickly and iteratively in order to maintain energy and liveliness in both his still and moving work.

Ryan's work spans a variety of subject matters, ranging from his working-class identity to somewhat anecdotal absurdist narratives, all approached with a sense of humour.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
