Ryan Yare

Discipline:

Photographer, Artist.

Location:

Cumbria

ABOUT:

My work is built by people sharing their own stories, in constantly evolving collaborative practice that offers a platform and voice to those that need it most.

I make use of socially-engaged documentary projects to capture stories, and the lives of those that tell them, seeking to champion their experiences, and ensure their endurance through printed books and exhibitions.

I am on the advisory panel at Stills Gallery in Edinburgh, the steering board of the Eden Valley Artist's Network, the leader of the UoC's Wildlife Society and the founder of the UoC's Gallery Society.

My practice is dedicated to encouraging positive environmental change in the photographic industry, and advocating for the experiences of the working class of Britain.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
