ABOUT:

As an artist, I use all sorts of materials but the sewing machine makes me come alive; the fluidity, the speed, the risk – it's an incredible instrument that I found by chance to keep me sane and is now an extension of my hands. It’s how I draw, even for my sketchbook.
I don’t need to look far for ideas, my head is like a hornets nest of them. Looking at my life and my passions and what has made me is what I create work around. My practice is about connections and it’s what I love about people looking at my work, love or hate it just to connect with someone is everything

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
