The Art House London are opening their doors to twoย Working Class Creatives Database (WCCD) members in May 2024, for a 6-week residency programme that offers free studio space, materials stipend, as well as advice and support from their experienced studio team. This opportunity for two artists is part of a wider programme we are partnering with WCCD on, which will see around 8 artists occupy our studios throughout 2024.ย  ย

This residency programme is for members of WCCD, and priority will always be given to those most in need of space.ย

We encourage applications from creatives who work within all mediums and practices, but you must be based in London, and we expect you to be able to produce a body of work during the six week residency.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
