Think Big Read Library x WCCD

It's been an absolute pleasure working with Think Big, Read Library for our show 'Gatherings' at SET Woolwich. This is the first time Think Big has made a response shelf for an exhibition; a shelf of books from the library selected in response to the themes from the show focusing on Collaborative belonging, Care, Intimacy and Class Struggle.

The response includes writing from:

Jarman - Delaney - CAConrad - H. Gareth Gavin - Ivor Cutler - Bernadette Mayer - Scalpello - Lorde - Flatness - Nelson - (loads) more!

Think Big, Read Community Library is a lending-library in Peckham, South London. It's based within SET Social at 55 Nigel Road, SE15 4NP. It houses a wide selection of books with a core collection of queer and trans literature, poetry and anti-capitalist and anti-carceral writing. It's also home to an archive of Ambit magazine.

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
