Help Us Keep Our Creative Residency Warm and Cozy

Since 2021, the Working Class Creatives Database has hosted 12 artist residencies at SET Woolwich, focusing on supporting those who often face barriers in accessing studio spaces. However, our building’s lack of heating and cold concrete floors have made it increasingly challenging—especially during the winter months. This round we will be focusing on perfomance residencies making our need for soft flooring essential along with our need for heaters.

This isn’t just where we host residencies; it’s also the heart of all our WCCD admin work that keeps everything running smoothly. We’re determined to make this space as comfortable as possible for both our residents and ourselves, ensuring creativity and productivity flourish year-round.

We’re asking for your support to fund the following improvements:

Soft flooring: £200

Radiators: £325

We’ve also added a little extra to cover unforeseen costs or to explore small additional upgrades that could make a big difference in the comfort and usability of the space.

Your generosity will directly enhance the experience for everyone who spends time in this space, helping us continue our mission to nurture creativity and community.

Thank you for being part of our journey and for considering a contribution—every little bit helps!

SUPPORT WORKING CLASS CREATIVES (1).png

'Working Class Creatives' responds to a need which is too often overlooked in the arts; that of the barriers facing working-class artists from getting on in our sector. They are instrumental in initiating much-needed change that will see the art world become more inclusive and reflect the society it purports to serve. I often search their database in my research, it is a vital resource for any arts professional working in culture today. That they have got this far on so little financial resource is remarkable and I am excited to see what they will achieve with further support.” Beth Hughes, Curator, Arts Council Collection.
